Microsoft Windows 11 is on its way

New Windows 11

Coming up this fall

According to Microsoft Windows 11 will be here by the end of the year. Although the beta version is currently being tested, the full release is not expected until the holiday season 2021. The initial launch will be for OEM preloaded systems at first, and available for upgrade for the current Windows 10 users. In a tweeter post from the official Microsoft account, the company said that users wouldn’t get free upgrades until sometime in 2022.

Microsoft insider subscriber can preview the new operating system

If you are signed up as a Windows insider, you are able to preview and download the Windows 11 Beta version insider builds. This version is downloadable from the Microsoft website and is compatible with any PC. Even if the current hardware does not meet all the minimum system requirements. If you are interested in joining the insider program you will need to register.  To set it up go to Settings > Updates & Security > Windows insider Program on a windows 10 to enable the Dev Channel and obtain Windows 11 builds.

We wouldn’t recommend installing the beta version on a machine you use daily, as there is a number and unfinished features and bugs that has been identified. Microsoft is working hard to resolve a number of known issue before the final release.

The company says that Windows has more than one billion users around the world. It believe that the PC will play a central role as the world moves forward from the pandemic. At its initial press conference, company executives said that they wanted to build a Windows platform that feels fresh and modern. “Windows 11 should feel familiar and secure,” said Microsoft chief produce officer, during the announcement live stream a couple of weeks ago.

Alongside the new Windows 11 OS, Microsoft is also releasing a preview of its Office suite for this new operating system. The updated user interface includes rounded corners in Office Apps to match the new OS.
