The Next generation M1 iMac
The first M1 iMac Silicon is officially here
and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before. It joins the family of Mac models powered with the M1 chip, including MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini. It’s not just the performance increase or the new advanced processor that makes it unique. In this latest update the screen is bigger and it features better speakers and better microphone. But the star of the show is definitely the M1 chip. The ground breaking efficiency with which this processor runs has enabled Apple the ability to create a slim and unique iMac chassis. The internal component have been dramatically consolidated and reduced in size. This new iMac takes a lot less space and will fit in tighter places. It is also noticeably quieter thanks to the M1 chip and a super-efficient dual fan cooling system.
But that’s not it
The most striking aspect of the new iMac is its long-awaited redesign. It features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with 11.3 million pixels with true tone technology. It is available in a range of fun colors, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. The FaceTime 1080p HD camera has been redesigned with a new image sensor for clearer picture in low light. The neural Engine in the M1 allows for better noise reduction and improved auto exposure.
To go along with this new release, Apple also introduced a new Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. This is the first time Apple expanded Touch ID to and external keyboard. That feature allows you to unlock you Mac, Authenticate for Apple Pay and App Store purchases. According to Apple, this New Magic Keyboard will work with any M1 Mac. This means you can use the Touch ID on any M1 MacBook Air, MacBook Pro or Mac Mini.
The entry-level iMac cost $1,299 for the basic configuration. It includes 256GB of SSD storage, 8GB of unified memory, and a seven-core GPU. The basic model is only available in four colors and does not come with the Touch ID keyboard.
The M1 chip enables a thinner design, it measures at 21.5 inch width, 18.1 inch Height, 11.5 thin and its total weigh is under 10 Lbs.
The M1 chip in the iMac achieved a higher benchmark score than any other Mac, making it ideal for everyday tasks. Apple benchmark results revealed, the new iMac is up to 55% faster than the previous high-end 21.5-inch with an Intel core i7 processor. Overall review tend to agree that this new iMac, it is the best all-in-one computer currently available.
